Laylah

Laylah was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois after her family moved there from various islands in Greece. Her fluency in both Greek and English drove her to entertain and sing in both languages. From a very young age Laylah had the love of being on stage, singing and entertaining. She came from a family where gatherings always included music, dancing and of course a performance by Laylah.

She has been pursuing her dream of becoming an artist at a very young age where she found her voice and then started writing lyrics. Although her family wanted her to pursue getting a college degree above all, Laylah never let that musical dream die down. After finishing school and traveling for work she has decided to return to her music and her hometown to continue chasing her dream. Her love for music brings out the best in her, which shows in every thing she does.

Laylah has appeared in various nightclubs in New York, Florida and Chicago. Most recently she's made her mark at some of the premier venues like Cavo and Zodiac in New York which are key for artists like herself. She also performed to packed crowds at key clubs like Den and also the popular Hellas in Chicago. Besides these two locations she has also appeared in many chic hot spots around the globe.

Laylah has been inspired by many artists in the industry. One of her favorites is Celine Dion for the way she came into the business. Mariah Carey is another one of her inspirations for her ability to adapt to the times and re-invent herself. When it comes to Greek artists the list can be quit lengthy - Haris Alexiou, Marinella, Geti Garbi, Anna Vissi and Ploutarhos are at the top.

"I feel very touched when I see people respond to my music and respond to my voice. I feel as though I can make such a big difference in someone's day through my singing", says Laylah.

Laylah is looking forward to bringing a touch of her culture out within her music and introducing it to the dance-pop music world. She is currently in the studio working with producer Chris Panaghi. With her sultry, sexy vocals meshed along with a cutting edge dance floor flavor, her unique style is sure to captivate fans worldwide. She can easily be compared to the likes of Kim Sozzi, Cascada and even Lady Gaga.

"Music is so important and universal. It's a way to escape to a different place for me and I translate that to others through my music. There's nothing better than a good beat to get you going!"
